With over 150 local members and growing, we are empowering women of the Big Country with the skills and confidence needed to stay protected in today's world.

Regardless of your shooting skill level we would love to have you join our sisterhood.

A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League is a ladies-only membership organization established by women shooters for women pistol, rifle, and shotgun shooters! The league is designed to take beginners to whatever skill level they wish to achieve and provide experienced shooters with more opportunities. The objective of some is to improve their skill levels for self-defense and competitive shooting. Others also are interested in learning how to choose the right guns, gear, and accessories for long-term participation in the community.

There are more than 300 AG & AG-branded events every month from specialty destination Girls Getaways, local Girls Nights Out (GNOs), virtual livestreaming and on-demand workshops, and large-scale events, such as our Clays Extravaganza, Fall Festival Multigun Challenge, and National Conference!

Local Upcoming Events

The Abilene Chapter meets for Girls Night Out every second Thursday & fourth Saturday of the month.  In addition we hold a private Beginner's Course, typically every month, for any new shooters wanting to learn or experienced shooters that need a refresher.  With A Girl & A Gun membership these courses are discounted from the regular pricing.

Education

If you are new to guns, our caring and qualified instructors will guide you on your journey. Whether it is through a destination event, virtual event, local event, or through our Shooting Journal or video/article libraries, you have many opportunities to learn. If you're an experienced shooter, we have advanced training drills and events to take you to the next level!

Recreation

It is important to come together in a recreational atmosphere and do some shooting just for the fun of it! It is one of the many reasons why people own guns. Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment for you; for many it may ease the fear when going to the range. Our events provide an opportunity to meet other like-minded women who love to shoot!

Competition

We are huge supporters of action shooting and competitive shooting sports. Static target practice is very important, but we believe that stepping out from behind the bench, learning to draw from a holster, shoot while moving, reload under stress, and mentally work out a scenario are essential skill sets to have as a gun owner… not to mention a lot of fun!

Community

We offer a judgment-free zone for women to come together, learn from each other, encourage each other, and share common interests. Whether it's at our major events, local events, or through our social media groups, women are proud to be a part of our sisterhood. We foster friendships and support charitable programs that make a difference in the world.

Local Meet & Greet

If you are on the fence about joining A Girl & A Gun, I encourage you to attend one of our Meet & Greet meetings.  This is for non-members to come and understand what AG&AG is about.  The meeting is informational and a place to ask any questions you may have about the membership.  Attending this meeting is not required to become a member.
